We place great importance on the choice of our partners and the way we produce our products. To ensure that we manufacture our goods only in places where people's fundamental rights are honoured, we adhere to a globally recognised methodology with a rigorous standard.

In our approach to doing business, we believe in personal connections and meaningful conversations over a cup of coffee. Our aim is to foster enduring relationships with suppliers and manufacturers who share our values and commitment to caring for their workers in the same manner as we do.

Jagar Eyewear is committed to ethical and commercially viable trading relationships. We will only engage with suppliers, manufacturers, and sub-contractors who comply with our ethical trading policy and support fair trade. We evaluate our suppliers against the following standards:

  • No forced or involuntary labour is allowed, including slave or indentured labour, bonded labour, involuntary labour, or unpaid prison labour. Workers should be free to leave their employer after reasonable notice and should not be required to lodge a deposit or their identity papers with their employer.
  • A safe and hygienic working environment shall be provided, and adequate measures taken to prevent accidents and injury to health.
  • Child labour is strictly prohibited. Suppliers must develop or participate in policies and programs that provide for the transition of any child found to be performing child labour to enable them to attend and remain in quality education until they are no longer a child.
  • No racial or sexual discrimination is practiced, and suppliers must not discriminate against workers or prospective workers.
  • Working hours must comply with national laws, collective bargaining agreements, and benchmark industry standards. Workers should not be required to work more than 48 hours per week (or less in accordance with local/national laws), should not work more than 12 hours of voluntary overtime, and should get one day off in 7. Overtime should be voluntary, compensated at a premium rate, and not demanded on a regular basis.
  • Workers must be paid at least the national/local minimum wage for a basic working week and provided with written and understandable information about their pay before they start employment. Unacceptable disciplinary practices, including corporal punishment, physical or mental coercion, verbal abuse, or withholding wages, will not be tolerated.
  • Suppliers must allow workers to freely join a trade union of their choice and bargain collectively on wages, benefits, and working conditions without fear of harassment or intimidation. Workers’ representatives shall not be discriminated against and have access to carry out their representative functions in the workplace. Unethical or dishonest practices, including bribery, corruption, and kickbacks, are strictly prohibited.

“Making a successful luxury brand in nine years is genius. It’s a feat that I admire and hope to continue building upon with a rich legacy. He revolutionised streetwear and luxury that crosses generations and decades. He showed the world that the underrepresented, the underdogs and Black people, in particular, have brilliant minds and can push and compete equally in the establishment. He inspired hope and brought about change.” - Ibrahim Kamara, Art&Image Director Off-White™
